What to Include

When requesting support:

  • BC version and environment type
  • SOD version
  • Description of issue
  • Steps to reproduce
  • Error messages
  • Screenshots if helpful

For publish or package validation errors: run Download Source on the Setup page and email the resulting ZIP to support@hougaard.com. If a .app or .zip attachment is blocked by mail filtering, rename it to .txt first. For validation errors such as an invalid anchor, Export App produces the app JSON, which is what support needs instead.

For unexplained runtime errors: use the error dialog's Share Details option and paste the whole block — it carries the message, session IDs, client activity id, timestamp, telemetry id and AL call stack.

For subscription or license verification: include the environment name, the tenant ID (the Microsoft Entra / Azure AD tenant ID of the BC environment), the email address the subscription is registered under, and the subscription or order number.

What Hougaard Does Not Provide

There is no paid integration or initial-setup service for connecting SOD to a live Business Central environment.

Instead:

  • Work through the self-service learning resources — the official Hougaard video guide library on YouTube
  • Many Business Central partners are experienced with Simple Object Designer and can assist with setup and usage

The search box on the support portal currently returns only a single result — the Product Support page itself — regardless of what you search for, even for text plainly present in posts on that page.

The cause is a conflict introduced by a recent update between the search functionality and the WordPress templates and components used on the site. A better search product is being evaluated as a replacement.

Until it is fixed, browse the Product Support page directly rather than relying on the search box.
