Library Entries
The Indicator Library is populated by import only. Library entries and their filters cannot be created, edited or deleted in the Business Central user interface. This guide explains where the entries come from, what they contain, and how to work with them.
How the Library Is Populated
Import from GitHub
The only way to fill the library is the Import action on the Indicator Library page:
- Search for Indicator Library
- Click Import
- All existing entries and filters are deleted
- The standard indicators are downloaded from the GitHub repository

The Select Indicator from Library page (opened from Select from library on the Define Indicator page) offers to run the same download when the library is empty.
Read-Only Pages
Both the Indicator Library page and the Filters on Indicator page are read-only lists:
- There is no New action and no card page
- Fields cannot be edited in place
- Entries and filters cannot be deleted
Custom Entries
Company-specific indicators are configured directly on the row definition line (see Indicator Card). Rows that were configured from the library keep their own copy of the table, field and filters, so they are not affected by later imports.
Writing custom records into the library tables would require a configuration package or an API; such records are wiped by the next Import, so they are not recommended.
Library Entry Fields
Each entry describes one reusable indicator:
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| ID | Unique identifier, built by the import as <TableName>.<Name> |
Customer.Balance (LCY) |
| Name | Descriptive name, normally the field name | Balance (LCY) |
| Type | Currently always SumField | SumField |
| TableNo | Related table number | 18 |
| Table Name | Related table name | Customer |
| Sum Field Table | Table containing the field to sum (stored as the table caption) | Customer |
| Sum Field Name | Field to sum (stored as the field caption) | Balance (LCY) |
| Sum Field Table No. | Table number resolved during import | 18 |
| Sum Field Field No. | Field number resolved during import | 59 |
Entries whose table or field cannot be resolved in the current environment are skipped during import.
Library Filter Fields
Each entry can have any number of filters, shown on the Filters on Indicator page:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| ID | The library entry the filter belongs to |
| Field | Name of the field to filter |
| Type | Static, Global Dim 1, Global Dim 2, or Column Period |
| Value | Filter expression; used only by Static filters |
| Field No. | Field number resolved during import |
Notes:
- A Static filter with a blank Value removes the filter on that field when applied; it does not filter for blank values.
- Library filters carry no date formula. For a Column Period filter, add the Date Formula on the indicator after applying the library entry.
- A filter whose field does not exist in the table is skipped during import.

Working with the Library
Viewing Entries
The Indicator Library page shows all entries in a list:
- Use filters to find specific entries
- Sort by any column
- Click Filters to see the filters of the selected entry
Keeping the Library Current
- Run Import periodically to pick up new or changed standard indicators
- Import replaces everything; indicators already applied to row definitions are not changed
- Test a few indicators after an import to confirm the field names resolve in your environment
Multi-Company Usage
The library is stored per company. Run Import in each company where you want to select from the library.
Troubleshooting
Entry Not Appearing in Selection
- The library is empty: run Import, or accept the download offered by the Select Indicator from Library page
- The entry's table or field does not exist in this environment, so the import skipped it
Filters Not Applied
- The filter's field name does not exist in the table (localized or renamed field); add the filter manually on the indicator
- The entry has no filters in the repository
Field Not Found When Applying
- Table or field captions differ in your environment
- Apply the indicator manually via Table Name and Field Name
