DocuSign Setup and Workflow

This page explains how to configure and use DocuSign integration with the SharePoint Connector.

DocuSign Overview

DocuSign is a leading electronic signature platform. The SharePoint Connector integrates with DocuSign to enable signing workflows directly from Business Central.

Prerequisites

DocuSign Requirements

Requirement Details
DocuSign subscription Business or Enterprise plan
Admin access To configure integration
API access DocuSign API enabled

Business Central Requirements

Requirement Details
SharePoint Connector Installed and configured
SharePoint connection Working and tested
Permissions E-signing permission set

Configuring DocuSign

Step 1: DocuSign Portal Setup

In DocuSign Admin:

  1. Log in to DocuSign Admin
  2. Go to Settings > Apps and Keys
  3. Create an integration key
  4. Configure OAuth settings
  5. Note the values needed

DocuSign Environments

Environment Use Service URL
Demo Testing https://demo.docusign.net/restapi
Production Live use your account-specific DocuSign REST base URI (e.g., https://na4.docusign.net/restapi, https://eu.docusign.net/restapi) -- find it in your DocuSign account under Apps and Keys

The connector decides which authorization endpoint to use by checking whether the Service URL contains demo; if so it uses https://account-d.docusign.com/oauth/auth, otherwise it uses the production https://account.docusign.com/oauth/auth.

Step 2: Business Central Setup

  1. Search for "DocuSign Setup" in BC
  2. Open the setup page

DocuSign Setup Fields

Field Description
DocuSign Activated Enable the integration

API Account ID Your DocuSign account ID
Integration Key OAuth integration key
Integration Secret OAuth secret
Callback URL OAuth redirect URL

Step 3: Enter Configuration

Field Value
DocuSign Activated Yes
DocuSign Service URL (demo or production URL)
API Account ID (your account ID)
Integration Key (from DocuSign)
Integration Secret (from DocuSign)
Callback URL (your BC callback URL)

Callback URL Format

The callback URL should include the appropriate page:

https://[your-bc-url]?page=70319480

Step 4: Connect and Authenticate

  1. Click Sign Into DocuSign in DocuSign Setup
  2. Browser opens for DocuSign authentication
  3. Sign in with DocuSign credentials
  4. Grant requested permissions
  5. Return to Business Central

Step 5: Test the Connection

  1. Verify status shows connected
  2. Test with a sample document

OAuth Configuration

Carbon Copy Recipients

Two kinds of carbon copy (CC) recipients can be added to an envelope. Neither is asked to sign.

Source Scope How to configure
Per document Only this envelope On the e-Signature detail page, add a recipient with type Carbon Copy
Setup Every envelope Enter one or more addresses in CC Emails on the DocuSign Setup page, separated by semicolons

Setup-level CC recipients receive the envelope as soon as it is sent and are notified when signing is complete. They are useful for keeping a shared mailbox, such as a sales or contracts inbox, informed of every signing request.
