Supported Editions

The SharePoint Connector is designed to work with various editions and configurations of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This page outlines the supported environments and requirements.

Business Central Editions

Supported Editions

Edition Supported Notes
Business Central Essential Yes Full functionality
Business Central Premium Yes Full functionality
Business Central Team Member Limited View-only access based on BC license

The connector works with both Essential and Premium editions. Your Business Central license determines which tables and pages you can access, which in turn affects which SharePoint folders you can view.

Platform Requirements

Minimum Platform Version

  • Business Central: 2024 release wave 1 (version 24) or later
  • Declared Platform/Application: 17.0.0.0 (app.json), but the AL runtime version below sets the effective minimum
  • Runtime Version: 13.0 (requires Business Central 24 or later)

A single package is produced; no separate per-version packages exist.

ID Range

The connector uses object IDs in the range 70319475 to 70319574.

Dependencies

The SharePoint Connector has no dependencies on other extensions. The dependencies array in app.json is empty.

For optimal performance and compatibility with the latest features, use the current Business Central release.

SharePoint Requirements

SharePoint Online

The connector is designed for SharePoint Online (Microsoft 365). It communicates with SharePoint using the SharePoint REST API via delegated OAuth 2.0: the Device Code flow requests the scope AllSites.Manage plus offline_access, while the App Registration flow uses the OAuth v1 resource= parameter and requests only the offline_access scope, the Modern App Registration flow uses the standard Business Central OAuth module (v2.0 endpoint) with the scope AllSites.Manage, and the PKCE flow uses the v2.0 endpoint as a public client (no client secret) with the scope AllSites.Manage plus offline_access.
