Limitations
What You Can't Do
- View table data (records)
- Modify standard fields
- Change table structure beyond adding fields
- Access restricted system tables
Tip: you can still inspect the data itself in Business Central. Although SOD's table inspection does not show records, you can run a table object directly by its ID to view its rows. This is the fastest way to confirm how records actually relate before building a Count FlowField, a query link, or a transfer.
Example: run table 5054 (Contact Business Relation) to see which contacts are linked to a given customer — the relationship that a Count of contacts must go through. See FlowFields.
Some Tables Not Visible
Certain tables may not appear:
- Virtual tables
- Query-based tables
- Tables without symbols
Fields Are Limited to What the Symbols Contain
The field list SOD shows for a table contains only the fields defined in the symbols downloaded from the connected environment.
If a field you expect does not appear after a symbol refresh with cache clearing, that field does not exist in that table in this environment. It is not a caching problem — verify the field against the actual table, and remember that fields defined by another extension only appear when that extension is installed. See Symbol Troubleshooting.
Filtering the Inspect Lists
The calculated columns on the Inspect lists cannot be filtered. To narrow the list to objects that actually carry customizations, use the only-customized filter available on the pages and reports in the Inspect area.
