Release Notes

This page describes where to find APD release information. Specific version numbers, dependency versions, and changelogs are not maintained here — they live with the build itself (app.json) and with the vendor's release announcements, both of which stay current as APD ships new versions.

Finding the Current Version

  • The extension's app.json carries the installed version, target Business Central application version, and dependency versions.
  • In Business Central, Extension Management shows the installed APD version and the version of the AL Compiler and Interpreter dependency it pulled in.

Where to Find Release Information

  • AppSource listing — the canonical changelog and known-issues list for the published version
  • Vendor announcements — the most up-to-date list of new features, improvements, and bug fixes
  • Documentation — pages elsewhere in this set describe the supported features as they exist today

Upgrade Notes

General Upgrade Procedure

When moving between APD versions:

  1. Backup First
    • Backup your database
    • Export customizations
    • Document current configuration (including a GitHub commit if you use the GitHub integration)
  2. Review Breaking Changes
    • Check the vendor's release notes for the target version
    • Review any deprecated features you depend on
    • Plan migration steps
  3. Test in Sandbox
    • Install the new version in a sandbox environment
    • Test all functionality
    • Recompile actions and verify customizations still work
  4. Deploy to Production
    • Schedule a maintenance window
    • Perform the upgrade
    • Recompile actions if needed and verify functionality

Compatibility

Refer to app.json for the target BC application version. APD will refuse to install on a Business Central older than that target.
